Tribological Properties of Mo-Si-B alloys
-
Abstract
The tribological behavior of Mo-Si-B alloy prepared by powder metallurgy method was investigated and verified. By comparing the experimental analysis at room temperature (25 ℃) and 800 ℃, it is noted that the friction coefficient of Mo-Si-B alloy is higher at 25 ℃, but it has a lower friction coefficient at 800 ℃, showing good tribological properties at this temperature. In addition, the influence of the other second phases on the friction coefficient was explored based on the existing research techniques. It was found that the friction coefficient of the second phases such as NiC, Cr, C (graphite) and Ni at 800 ℃ were low and had good high temperature tribological behavior. The research results can provide a theoretical reference for the application and development of Mo-Si-B alloy in the field of high temperature.
