Abstract:
In this article, relying on a large ethylene plant project of a company undertaken by a company, the problems that may occur in the design of large diameter and thin wall containers are analyzed and expounded, such as calculation and comparison of open hole reinforcement, selection of local stress calculation methods, container instability, selection of pressure test methods, calculation of gas explosion equivalent and protection distance, non-destructive testing, etc. Causes of the problems are analyzed and the corresponding solutions are proposed, it is hoped to provide experience for design and manufacture of the large-scale thin-wall container projects in the future.
