Abstract:
In the process of wire production, deep crack like defects often appear on the surface of the wire. Through metallographic observation, a layer of white bright layer was found at the defect location on the surface of the wire. The conclusion drawn is that deformation martensite (also known as drawing martensite) has already formed on the surface of the wire, which often leads to wire breakage during subsequent drawing and twisting, seriously affecting the yield and quality of the steel wire rope. The author of this article conducted in-depth and detailed research on the causes, morphology, influencing factors, and preventive measures of deformation martensite defects through research and analysis. The specific results of the conditions for the formation of deformation martensite and its impact on material properties were obtained, verifying the effectiveness and necessity of preventive measures. This result has important value and significance for improving the understanding of deformation martensite among production employees and preventing its occurrence in actual production.
