Abstract:
A parameterized design method based on general CAD/CAE software collaboration is proposed to solve the problems of lack of specialized design software to calculation of non-circular gear pitch curve. This method constructs a spline curve model in polar coordinates, uses the geometric query function of CAD software to obtain high-precision segmented curve lengths, and combines Matlab software to calculate the slope of the curve. On this basis, the solid sweep feature of Creo software is used to get three-dimensional modeling of non-circular gear machining tooth profiles. Case studies have shown that this method avoids complex programming solving processes and significantly improves the continuity and design accuracy of non-circular gear tooth profiles compared to traditional discrete point tracing methods, providing an effective approach for low-cost design of non-circular gears.
