Research Progress on Laser Arc Hybrid Welding of High-strength Steel

  • In response to the current research status of laser arc hybrid welding of high-strength steel, the problems existing in the process of laser arc hybrid welding of high-strength steel are described in detail from the aspects of welding defects, weld formation, and joint softening. The methods for suppressing welding defects are summarized, and the influence of welding technology on the quality of weld formation is explored. The strengthening mechanism of welding joints is revealed. For high-strength steel laser arc hybrid welding, optimizing welding process parameters and selecting appropriate welding wires and grooves can reduce welding defects; By increasing the arc power and precisely controlling the distance between the optical fibers, the optimal coupling state between the laser and the arc plasma can be formed, which can improve the quality of weld formation; Selecting appropriate welding wire to produce fine grain strengthening in the weld seam, reducing the dilution rate by increasing the filling amount of welding wire to reduce the segregation of harmful impurity elements, and improving the problem of joint softening by adjusting the proportion of laser energy and using low strength matching welding wire.
