Design of Personnel Detection System for Trackless Rubber Tired Vehicles Operating Along the Mine Line

  • Mine auxiliary roadways feature complex structures, dim light and frequent personnel flow. The sight of trackless rubber wheeled vehicle drivers is easily blocked, which frequently leads to pedestrian-vehicle collisions and brings prominent potential safety hazards. Based on infrared thermal imaging technology, this paper designs a personnel detection system along the driving route of rubber wheeled vehicles. The overall structure of the system is introduced, the specific realization methods of personnel detection functions are studied, and field application tests are carried out. The results show that the system can automatically detect pedestrians along auxiliary roadways, accurately identify the relative positions of vehicles and personnel, judge safety risks in real time, and remind drivers to take evasive measures. It can effectively reduce the risk of pedestrian-vehicle collisions and improve personnel safety in auxiliary transportation roadways, which possesses popularization and application value.
