Design and Research on Spinach Clamping and Conveying Device

Abstract
As a widely consumed vegetable, spinach harvesting production benefits are highly dependent on the mechanization degree of harvesting operations. Existing commercial spinach harvesters mostly apply disordered harvesting patterns, featuring weak clamping stability and low efficiency during post-harvest bundling. To address these shortcomings, a herringbone-type spinach clamping-conveying device is designed in this study. The device utilizes symmetric double-row synchronous belts to achieve clamping and extraction of spinach plants. Through kinematic and dynamic analysis of the whole working process, the suitable belt conveying speed is determined as 1.1 m/s. Under the device inclination angle of 22°, spinach can be smoothly uprooted and stably held. The obtained results offer theoretical references for the development of intelligent spinach harvesting machinery.
