Design and Application of Manual Reaming Scheme

Abstract
Pin holes are common machining features in mechanical processing. Their perpendicularity, cylindricity, roughness, and diameter dimensions are of great importance. Three machining methods can be selected: machining pin holes with a machine tool, machining pin holes with a magnetic drill, and machining pin holes manually. When the machine tool and magnetic drill cannot meet the requirements for pin hole machining, conventional manual pin hole machining cannot ensure the accuracy requirements of the pin holes. This paper studies how to ensure that the center line of the hand reamer coincides with that of the pin hole when a fitter uses a hand reamer to ream the pin hole, and how to ensure that the hand reamer and the grinding tool operate with uniform axial speed and stable radial movement during the manual reaming of the pin hole to guarantee the quality of the pin hole. A solution is proposed for manual reaming to maintain the perpendicularity and cylindricity of the pin hole, and to correct the roughness of the hole wall without affecting the perpendicularity and cylindricity. At the same time, the feasibility of this solution is verified in the actual processing. Through probability analysis, the influence ranges of manual reaming and grinding of the pin hole on the hole diameter size are compared, and it is concluded that the combined processing effect of manual reaming and manual grinding of the pin hole is better than that of single manual reaming. This provides a reference for the processing of manual reaming of pin holes in other working conditions.
