Multiaxial Fatigue Life Prediction of the Drive Shaft in an Automatic Car Wash System

  • This paper references fatigue life analysis methods for similar shafts. Based on the principle of virtual work and the von Mises yield criterion, while fully considering operational conditions and other factors, a three-dimensional model of the drive shaft was established. This model was imported into ANSYS Workbench to analyze its static stress-strain characteristics. Taking into account factors such as part size coefficients, surface finish quality coefficients, and local stress concentration coefficients, we establish an S-N curve for the fatigue of the drive shaft based on existing relevant theories. Using multi-axis fatigue analysis methods, the fatigue life of the drive shaft is obtained, which is consistent with theoretical analysis results, validating the rationality of the theory. This provides a foundation for the precise design and analysis of similar components in the future, offering practical guidance.
